Artist Sherri Warner Hunter and her team created the mosaic pieces in the Emerald Garden. As part of the creative process, Sherri conducted patient workshops where kids created crayon and oil pastel drawings of rocky shore creatures reflective of the California ecosystem. These drawings were then turned into small mosaic pieces, including the sea otter pictured here. Children visiting the Emerald Garden will be delighted by the many play features, including a pelican perch bench, elephant seal slide and rocking shrimp.
